Growing up, I hated reading. Dreaded the book reports that I flunked. Couldn't read past the first sentence, let alone a paragraph. Mom used to always read the book to me (the night before the report was due) so that I could answer the questions. (True story).

It wasn't until my mid-20s that I started reading. As a teenage mom, it gave me something that was mine. I could get lost in someone else's life for a little while when my daughter was sleeping.

Growing up with my Grandmother, Nanny Joan, life was always an adventure. I believe she was a daredevil and often took my own life along with hers in her hands as we moseyed on out into the world.

I always knew I wanted to write a story about her because I believed and still do, that she was a legend. She is still alive as I write this, but Dementia has gotten the best of her.

It was my desire to tell our story that pushed me to write my first book. After that, the floodgates opened and I was a writing machine. I haven't written since my last book. I struggled with life around the release of my last book. But I can say with confidence, the itch is coming back.
